cropped-Picture-1.pngHi! My name is Ian O’Byrne.

I am an educator, researcher, and speaker. My work centers on teaching, learning, and technology. I study literacy practices of individuals in online, and hybrid spaces.

I’m currently an Assistant Professor of Literacy Education at the College of Charleston. I’ve also worked at the University of New Haven, and the University of Connecticut. Before that I was a teacher and leader in public schools.

I write here mainly about literacy, technology, and education. You can get updates via RSS, or just follow along on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, and LinkedIn. I also share materials from my classes, keynotes, and events in my blog posts.

I write a weekly newsletter that goes out every Friday to over 500 people. My YouTube channel is also a great resource that include tricks and tips, as well as interviews with experts in literacy, technology, and education.

Please feel free to contact me about opportunities to help you or your organization negotiate the intersection between literacy, technology, and education.
